Testing correlation coefficients assumes H0: ρ = 0 for no correlation. The correlation and sample size are used to determine the t score (t = (r * sqrt(N - 2)) / sqrt(1 - r2)) and degrees of freedom (N - 2) needed for a t-test. The present test is nondirectional for either positive or negative correlations.
The exact p value calculations use the jStat statistics library from Github via the Content Delivery Network.
