PSPP for Beginners

PSPP Appearance

PSPP typically uses two different windows, which is just like SPSS.

The appearance of PSPP when the program is launched without any data.

The "data view" is the default that you will see when you start PSPP. The data view will display your data in a table that looks similar a spreadsheet, although it doesn't look much like a spreadsheet yet.

When an analysis is done, a new, second window will be opened to display the output. We will see an example of this soon.

An important difference between PSPP and spreadsheets is that PSPP only uses numbers, letters, words, or other data in the data view. There are no formulas entered into the cells in the data view. The analyses instead will be done from the "Analyze" drop-down menu.
